Haley's Snot
Poor Haley, first time she's really been sick. Green snot, had to do a breathing treatment at the Dr. You would think I've seen & done everything but this was our first albuterol mask experience. Probably the longest 15 minutes of my life, trying to keep the mask on her little face. I can't even imagine Harper keeping the mask on, I would have to put her in a straitjacket. Lily asked why I had to use the nasal aspirator aka snot sucker on Haley. I explained that babies don't know how to blow their nose and her response, "Because her bones are not very strong" Ummm yeah, sometimes I just agree with her crazy thoughts because I really can't even come up with a good explanation.
Aunt Cheryl
Aunt Cheryl came up for the night last week & the girls just think she's a rock star. She'll hang out at their baby pool with them, do crafts, read the same book 20x, you know she's a cool aunt. When it came time for Aunt Cheryl to leave, Lacy says to her, "We had a great time with you" and after she left she said, "She's so nice Mommy" Aunt Cheryl is also one of the few people that is brave enough to watch all 4 and during Haley's fuss time so we could go out to dinner alone..very brave.
Powdered Sugar
Haley has chunky little thighs that get a little chaffed at times so I'll often put baby powder on her during diaper changes. Lacy came up to me one day & said, "Can you put some powdered sugar in my panties?"
What???
"Like you do Haley. Can I have some powdered sugar?"
What???
"Like you do Haley. Can I have some powdered sugar?"

May Funnies Part One
Thank goodness all our girls are so different because if I had four just like Lily, I'm not sure how well I would fare as a mother. Lily is VERY persistent and will ask the same questions over and over and over...usually until she gets the answer she wants to hear. This particular day, she had asked over and over to play out front because she likes to ride her bike and scooter on the sidewalk. Of course that means i have to take both babies out front with us so I can't always do this as soon as she asks. So, after what felt like the millionth time she asked, I asked her,
"Lily, how many times do we ask mommy something?"
"One time"
"Lily, how many times have you asked to go out front?"
"70 times"
The girls like to make cards for everybody they know, friends, family, Mommy, Daddy, etc. Lacy was telling me one day she was going to make a card for Mammy, Pappy, Harper, Haley, Mommy, Daddy, her friend Erin, etc. I asked her who wasn't going to get a card, she thought a minute, finger to her mouth and says, "Strangers. I will not make a card for strangers because they are people I don't know" Lacy has trouble with her "r"s so this is even cute when said without the "r" sound.
Lacy also informed Harper that she can be her best friend when she is 7. I also overheard her telling Harper who had just eaten a big dirt ball that dirt is not a healthy food. This coming from our child who dips pears in ranch dressing, puts ranch and jelly together on a biscuit and adds grapes to her peanut butter sandwich.

Our Lacy
Lacy is our sensitive one, stubborn as can be but very sensitive. It's hard to discipline her or even push her too much without tears. My heart hurts for her because I know she's not comfortable speaking up to people that aren't close to her. Jason says he's afraid the world is going to eat her up because she's pretty thin skinned. I have to remind myself she's not quite 4 and still has all her growing up to do, I hope preschool and other new experiences help her come out of her shell a little more.
April Funnies
On our way home from somewhere the other day, Haley is screaming, Harper is whining & Lily starts crying...I said, "Why are YOU crying?" She answered, "Because the babies are making too much noise!" Amen, Sister.
Lacy has been going to speech therapy for a few weeks now and she informed me the other day, "I can talk like a grown up now" She also just informed me that Harper will be her best friend...pretty soon. Not sure why the delay..she's probably waiting until Harper stops being like Godzilla with her toys.
Our days have settled back into organized chaos for now, Haley is sleeping halfway decent which helps. I know some days seem very long but it won't be long before Lily is in K, Lacy starts preschool and the running around will begin. There are days when I think I have it all together for about ten minutes and then there are days when I think I can't possible do this for another ten minutes.
